Perhaps Jersey City’s most famous mayors Frank Hague commissioned Christian H. Zieglerto design this Art Deco creation. It was used in the past as a Police precinct that today has been re-purposed as the Soleil Lofts Condominium Residences. The name, Soleil Lofts, is derived from the architectural Art Deco Design. One of the more common themes in many Modern Art Deco designs is the Sun or rays of sun. The art Deco movement gained much of its fame in France Soleil is the French word for Sun.
